Joan Maxfield, a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, graduated
from Brackenridge Hospital School of Nursing in
Austin and obtained her BSN and MSN at The University of Texas
Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1996. Joan worked as an RN for over 20 years before becoming a
Nurse Practitioner. As an RN, she worked in a variety of settings including
two years in the Peace Corps in South America.
