Hospital Development Foundation was created in 1991
to function as an adjunct to the Board of Directors
in the areas of fund raising and public relations.
Funds raised by the foundation are used to further
the hospital's mission as a non-profit corporation.
The fifteen member board meets as needed to organize
and oversee hospital fundraisers.

Since its inception in 1991, the
Development Foundation Board has raised $1,165,764 for various
projects throughout the Hospital. In addition to raising money
for both Health Center building drives, the Foundation Board has
assisted with many other important projects for the Hospital
over the years, including the transportation van, vital sign
monitors and portable pulse oximeters for ER and ICU, a
ventilator for the anesthesia machine used in Surgery,
cable-ready television sets for patient rooms, the Emergency
Room renovation and expansion, teleradiology equipment, hospital
beds and mattresses, laparoscopic equipment for surgery that
permits the surgeon to perform a procedure through a small
incision through a scoping mechanism which has proven that
patients generally recover quicker from “band-aid” surgeries,
and a Computed Radiology Unit for Imaging. In addition, funds
have been raised to update the hospital's fire alarm system and
the current fundraising project is
to update the
hospital’s oxygen system throughout the hospital. This involves
relocating the oxygen tank pad, installing an emergency oxygen
valve, new alarm panels, and associated piping and wiring. The
total cost of this upgrade is approximately $60,000.
